Director of Marketing (Remote)

Big Red M is seeking an experienced Director of Marketing. This is a full-time, remote position.

Job Description

Come join a high-growth, collaborative team focused on super charging revenue growth for associations through sales and strategy. Big Red M is looking for a seasoned Director of Marketing to join our organization. 

The Director of Marketing is responsible for both organizational direction and operational support to ensure that the aggressive revenue goals of Big Red M are achieved. This role is a mix of both creativity, helping to choose the direction of Big Red M’s marketing efforts to generate leads and continue to promote our image as a trusted resource to associations, while also providing an attention to detail and ensuring projects and tasks are completed.  The operations part of the position provides critical support on web development, digital marketing campaign scheduling, content and social media development budgeting, and Big Red M events. 

This is a highly collaborative role where you will work closely with the Account Executives (AEs), inside sales, sales operations, the larger marketing team and senior management. You will work cross-functionally across the company to drive customers to our doorstep and increase revenue opportunities with existing customers. This position will report to the Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing, working in a collaborative environment to drive leads and thereby revenue to the organization. 

What success looks like:

  • Pipeline growth – 10 SQLs per month, $1M in pipeline opportunity.
  • 20% annual growth in web traffic, with monthly organic traffic of 50% of overall traffic.
  • Predictable and steady improvements in email open rates and click rates.
  • Optimized sales enablement which results in the sales team exceeding quota and the company exceeding its revenue targets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Development and implementation of the overall marketing strategy for Big Red M.
  • Cultivating and driving revenue opportunities to our sales team.
  • Development of SEO with proven results over time.
  • Website maintenance and improvement.
  • Management of company’s social media pages.
  • Creation of bi-weekly company marketing newsletters.
  • Planning and execution of live events – including ASAE and C-Suite association networking events. Provide leadership regarding marketing materials coordination and event planning.
  • Creation of sales collateral and similar items including, but not limited to client testimonials, case studies, decks, playbooks, branding items, etc. 
  • Managing outside contractors providing marketing support to Big Red M.
  • Assisting the sales team in marketing emails and prospect research and outreach.
  • Creation of a marketing/public relations/brand management strategy that will cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences, including the media and key influencers.
  • Lead development of online and offline integrated marketing programs including email, social media, lead nurturing, content syndication, channel marketing, and analytics. The execution of digital marketing and demand generation campaigns (PPC, SEO/SEM), that drive customer engagement.
  • Planning and coordination of online webinars and implementation of a robust method for lead follow-up.
  • Development of strategies that grow market share and brand’s reputation, improve customer experience and drive growth.
  • Strong storytelling for email and client-specific targeting campaigns.
  • Conducting market research and suggest adjustments in marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions while keeping abreast of industry trends and competitors’ products, services, marketing, and online presence in the association space.
  • Defining, positioning, and creating messaging for publications and events. Overseeing the development and maintenance of all marketing materials (internal and external) for the company’s offerings.
  • Organization and dissemination of training materials to the sales team on a regular basis.

For consideration, candidates must possess the following:

  • 7-10 years related marketing experience; ideally in non-profit/association marketing.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required with a strong academic record focused on business, marketing/communications.
  • A strong attention to detail, passion for the association space, business development and sales enablement.
  • Proficiency in modern integrated marketing communication tools, including content management systems (CMS), project management tools, Marketing Automation Software (e.g., ActiveCampaign, SEMrush, HubSpot, Marketo, Oracle Eloqua, etc.), email marketing programs, knowledge of PPC, SEO /SEM fundamentals, and more.
  • Advanced MS Office experience.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com.
  • Basic HTML coding experience or web development tools.
  • Mid-level to advanced skill in Adobe or similar graphic programming.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including proofreading skills).
  • Experience managing a departmental budget.
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to work with organizational leadership to build consensus around strategy and tactics.
  • Self-motivation and excitement to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Experience in launching and commercializing new products to market.
  • Excellent organizational skills, confident communication and presentation abilities.

Account Executive (Remote)

Big Red M is seeking an experienced Account Executive with a desire to collaborate, problem-solve and win. This is a full-time, remote position.

Job Description

In this position, you will provide direct sales for association clients needing revenue growth in membership, sponsorship, trade show exhibits, or advertising.  You will also help manage an association’s membership department including onboarding and retention.  The opportunity includes managing multiple association accounts in a variety of industries.  Big Red M’s client list includes some of the most high-profile and influential organizations in the world.

To succeed we provide a flexible work environment including telecommuting, state-of-the-art sales CRMs, list development support and an “association hustle” process of sales which has a track record of success.

You will conduct kick-off meetings with clients, engage senior-level executives, proactively schedule and confirm sales meetings, and participate in cold-calling when needed.  You will also oversee sales lead generation email campaigns and digital advertising to add “top of funnel” prospects.  The ideal BDM is a closer that is also a team-player and can collaborate with teammates and customers for success. 

Job Duties Include:

  • Design sales and marketing plans to generate more revenue for association clients.
  • Execute plans to generate qualified leads and identify sales opportunities.
  • Prospect and make outbound calls to business leads and qualified companies.
  • Manage and respond to inbound requests from prospects.
  • Ensure Salesforce.com contains accurate account details and contact information.
  • Provide weekly updates to clients about the direction of revenue generation activities including activity and pipeline reports

Education or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of sales experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of association/membership experience

Technical Skills

  • Trained basic knowledge of Salesforce database, Office and Outlook

Communication & Management Skills:

  • Demonstrated aptitude to manage and lead multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to build relationships with senior-level professionals and work well under a goal-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Effective problem solving, time management and organization skills
